This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you use this website or get in touch with us. Apple Bridge Ltd is the data controller for that information.

Information we collect from this website

If you use our contact form, we receive what you choose to type into it:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your organisation, if you give it
• Your address, if you give it — this field is optional
• The message you write

Contact form submissions are sent to us by email and are not stored in this website’s database. Once the email is sent, the website itself keeps no copy.

If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect statistics about how the website is used. That is explained under “Cookies and website analytics” below.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use the details you send us to reply to your enquiry and, where you are asking about our services, to discuss how we might help. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have contacted us and would reasonably expect a reply.

We will not add you to a marketing list on the strength of a contact form enquiry, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept in our email account for as long as they are useful for our working relationship with you, and are then deleted. If you would like us to delete your enquiry sooner, just ask.

Google Analytics keeps visit-level data for no more than 14 months. After that, only overall totals remain, such as how many people visited a page.

Spam prevention

To stop the contact form being abused, the website briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of the IP address a submission came from. It cannot be read back as an IP address, it is used only to spot repeated automated submissions, and it is deleted automatically within 30 minutes.

Cookies and website analytics

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. We use Google Analytics to understand how this website is used, so we can improve it. It tells us things like which pages are visited, how people found the site, what kind of device and browser they use, and roughly where in the world they are. It does not tell us who you are.

Google Analytics only runs if you press “Accept” in our cookie notice. Until you do, or if you decline, it is not loaded at all and no analytics cookies are set. Our lawful basis for analytics is your consent. We do not use it for advertising.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets two cookies:

• _ga — tells one visitor apart from another. It lasts 2 years.
• _ga_V2BYHP0D4F — keeps track of your current visit. It lasts 2 years.

We also store a record of the choice you make in the cookie notice, so we do not ask you the same question every time you visit. That is strictly necessary and does not require consent.

You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer. If you withdraw your consent, Google Analytics stops straight away and its cookies are removed from your browser.

Other people who handle your data

• Our website host keeps standard server logs, which include visitors’ IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.
• Our email provider delivers and stores the enquiry emails you send us.
• Google provides Google Analytics, which only runs if you accept analytics cookies. Google also serves the fonts this website uses, so when a page loads your browser fetches them from Google’s servers, which see your IP address.
• Cloudflare provides the spam check on our contact form. When you open the contact page, it receives technical details about your browser and connection, including your IP address, and uses them for security purposes.

Our host and email provider act on our instructions. Google and Cloudflare may process information outside the UK, including in the United States, under safeguards recognised by UK data protection law.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
• ask us to delete it;
• object to us using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it;
• ask us to transfer it to someone else;
• withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time, using the cookie settings link in the footer.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
